Wine Glossary
Definition: Cult Wines
An American term used to describe high-quality, extremely expensive wines that are produced in very small quantities and highly sought after by collectors. It refers primarily but not exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon wines produced by a group of Napa Valley wineries such as Araujo, Bryant Family, Colgin, Grace Family, Harlan Estate, and Screaming Eagle. Other wines that fall into this category include Chardonnays from Kistler, Koonsgaard, and Marcassin and Zinfandel from Turley.
