Definition: Muscadet
[meuhs-kah-DAY] A popular light, dry white wine produced in western portion of France's Loire region. Unlike most other wines in France, the name is not taken from a town or geographic area but rather from a grape known locally as Muscadet (although its proper name is melon de bourgogne). Muscadet is quite good, particularly in light of its reasonable price. It should be served chilled and goes nicely with fish and poultry.
