Wine Review: This light ruby colored blend was my favorite red choice from the Finger Lakes at this year’s Boston Wine Expo. This primarily Cabernet Franc wine is a terrific representation of what was achieved with the 2007 vintage. It opens with an attractive blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty blend of blueberry and red currant. The finish is dry and its tingly tannins linger nicely. It would be for a wonderful choice with veal parmigianna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2007 Meritage is a traditional Bordeaux blend which exhibits wonderful rich flavors, depth and balance. This medium bodied blend has been aged 11 months in American oak. This fruit forward wine has soft tannins and a touch of dark chocolate on the finish that complements the ripe berry and black cherry flavors. Highly recommended with beef, grilled foods or hearty pasta dishes.
