Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Tempranillo from California is very good. It opens with a fragrant black cherry bouquet with hints of cola and red grape. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is cherry-cola with notes of oak and cinnamon spice. I also detected hints of plum and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild acidity are nicely prolonged. This Tempranillo is food friendly and would pair nicely with a chicken and shrimp paella. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine has sour cherry aromas and flavors layered with hard spice, smoke and cocoa. There is a nice back note of spicy French oak that has integrated nicely with the wine.
