Wine Review: This almost pitch black colored Shiraz opens with a mild spicy ripe blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, very smooth, and elegant for a Shiraz. The flavor profile is a gently extracted and very tasty rich blueberry with a hint of white pepper and blackberry in the background. The finish is dry and slightly extended. This food friendly Shiraz would pair perfectly with duck. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple with a black core. The bouquet shows concentrated aromas of plums, scorched earth, licorice, mint, and chocolate whilst exhibiting trademark McLaren Vale characters of coffee and mocha. The mouth feel and texture is immediate with concentrated flavours of cola, plum, and blackcurrant along a vibrant and linear backbone. The mid palate shows terrific focus, the finish balanced by impeccable tannin and acid structure.
