Wine Review: This pitch black colored Shiraz opens with a fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with a hint of blueberry preserves. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a plum and blackberry blend with notes of mild oak. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins and fruit flavors linger nicely. This wine would be nice with sharp cheddar cheese by the fireplace on a cold winter night. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Colour: Black core with magenta rim Aroma: Rich berries, plums, lavender and dark chocolate coupled with spice, subtle earth, char/ash and anise. This wine is from a near perfect vintage and very evocative of Barossa Shiraz. Palate: Dark fruit bursts onto the palate. The vibrant acid carries the juicy plummy fruit and bitter chocolate seamlessly through the palate and continues to roll on and on balanced by firm but fine tannins. This wine is from our best vintage to date and will need a few months to settle down, and will drink well for at least the next decade if cellared well.
