Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Edna Valley is a very good fruit bomb. It opens with black plum and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very juicy. The flavor profile is and extracted plum and blackberry blend with notes oak, anise and hint of dark chocolate. The finish is dry and its fruit and moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. This Pinot Noir would do well on its own or would pair well with duck confit. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep in color with leading aromas of cedar box and wet forest floor. There are undertones of dried rose petals, smoked savory brisket, and mountain sage. The palate showcases chocolate covered blueberries, dark plum, black candied licorice, eucalyptus and graphite. This vintage is structured to please, and like all classic Pinot Noirs, this wine is at its best with food.
