Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Merlot from South Africa was consistently well received by the panel. This wine opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of barnyard, green pepper and orange slice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and approachable. The flavor profile is a black plum and cherry-vanilla blend with hints of blueberry and cedar. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are rather sticky. The panel suggested pairing this Merlot with beef brisket, lamb chops or a mushroom risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This refined, supple-textured Merlot charms with attractive aromas and flavors of red berries, blackcurrant and plum. Subtle nuances of tobacco, earth, mint and smoke make this wine a great partner for grilled meats.
