Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Shiraz was well received by our mini-tasting group. It opens with a toasty oak and mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and polished. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak infused black currant with a touch of blackberry and black pepper. The finish is quite dry and its fine tannins are tingly and show very nice length. This Shiraz is a terrific example of what can be accomplished with this grape in South Africa. Pair it with a pepper encrusted NY strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This robust, Rhone-inspired Syrah from the heralded Thelema estate charms with enticing flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, and pepper and an alluring meaty, earthy character. A lovely minerality and intriguing notes of dark chocolate, toast and spice carry through on the finish.
