Wine Review: This straw colored Grillo (GREE-lo) opens with a mild grapefruit and peach pit bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and round with a very nice mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced mild grapefruit and gentle lemon blend with notes of almond and saline. I also detected just a hint of peach pit in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Grillo would pair very nicely with seafood appetizers like fried sea scallops or fried calamari. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pale straw yellow in color, Tasca d'Almerita Grillo offers a broad range of bright fruit aromas from crisp citrus to white peach, tangy apricots, and exotic tropical fruit like pineapple. An elegant backbone of minerality carries the wine across the palate and leads into a balanced finish.
