Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from Talbott opens with an appealing mild strawberry bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak influenced strawberry with hints of minerality, red raspberry and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely/ This Pinot is food friendly and would nicely accompany delicate meals. I would pair it with Julia Child’s poached salmon with cucumber sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Talbott Pinot Noir, Kali Hart is a pure fruit expression of our vineyard. It is made to be bright and appealing upon release, with the fresh, cool climate flavors for which the Monterey County AVA is known. It has a beautiful, deep ruby color with bright fruit aromas of cranberry, currant and plum, as well as hints of vanilla. The crisp red fruit flavors continue on the palate, where they are accentuated by soft, smooth tannins. The finish is long with lush fruit and hints of vanilla and French oak. Kali Hart Pinot Noir is named after Robb Talbott's youngest daughter.
