Wine Review: If you like oaky Chardonnay, this is one that may interest you. It gained praise from fans of this style at a tasting I recently attended. It is light yellow colored and opens with a fragrant and attractive mild apricot and banana bouquet. On the palate, the wine is full bodied, balanced, and rich. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear and green melon with a hint of lemon. The finish is dry and a little tingly. There is also some mild oak in the aftertaste. As I mentioned before, Chard fans who like oak will really like this wine. Serve it with Chicken St. Timothy. Cheers – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This voluptuous wine begins with aromas of ripe pear, plum, Meyer lemon, vanilla and buttered popcorn. On the palate, a core of Asian pear, yellow fruit and spice dominates, accentuated by layers of hazelnut and lemon custard. Throughout, integrated oak and a beam of stony minerality balance the lush, round fruit.
