Wine Review: This Chardonnay is Excellent! It is deep yellow colored and opens with an attractive mild lemon, faint peach and pleasant oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious mild apple and gentle butterscotch blend with hints of nicely integrated oak. I also detected a touch of pear. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely for quite some time. It would be a perfect match for lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Upper Barn is our most transporting Chardonnay, and the 2011 vintage is particularly expressive. Orange blossom, peach and chalk flood the nose, while the palate mirrors those flavors with a savory, underpinning note and pronounced mineral and spice elements in the lengthy finish. The texture is filigreed, exhibiting that delicacy of fruit and a river rock quality—the transparency that only age and a superb site can bring to a wine.
