Wine Review: This clear medium garnet colored Zinfandel from St. Amant opens with a strawberry preserves and red raspberry bouquet with hints of cinnamon, topsoil, and violet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth, and very fruit forward. Those fruits are a blend of stewed red plum and lingonberry with notes of oolong tea and black pepper. We also detected hints of cranberry, stony minerality, red bell pepper, and peach. On the finish, its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Zin with a gourmet bacon blue cheeseburger. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: From Marian's Vineyard. It is a revered 8.3-acre own-rooted vineyard planted in 1901 at Mohr-Fry Ranch and named for Marian Mohr Fry Zimmerman, the Fry family matriarch.
