Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Spottswoode opens with a black currant and cherry bouquet with hints of book leather, baking spices, and milk chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very smooth. The flavor profile is concentrated black cherry and red currant blend with notes of oak and black plum sauce. We also detected some hints of stony minerality and black tea in the blend. The finish is dry, and its fine-grained polished tannins linger nicely and then fade away. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Fresh notes of crushed bramble, cassis, and red cherries underpin subtle aromas of lavender, cedar, and spruce. Mineral nuances of wet slate add structure, while the tannins remain silky and supple despite the wine's youth. A beautiful wine to be enjoyed now and for years to come.
