Wine Review: This is another example of why wines from Toro should be at the forefront of international wines and the American wine market should take notice. Produced from 100% Tempranillo, or Tinta de Toro as it is locally called, this wine has all the right factors: high altitude vineyards, low yields, old vines, and barrel aged. The wine coats the palate with dried fruits like figs, boysenberry, and black currant. The wine then shows off the baking spices and soft tannins that come with barrel and bottle aging. The finish is lengthy but drier than most may like. That being said, I suggest decanting it first and then pairing it with a nice New York Sirloin or a T-bone for that matter. - Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Deep-red cherry color with purple tones at the edges. Intense aromas, good combination of black berries with toasted nuances from the oak. Balsamic and spicy underscore. Meaty flavors with very fine and ripe tannins. Long and persistent aftertaste. Pairs well with any type of meat, bird, roasts, cheeses, seafood in sauces or pasta.
