Wine Review: This midnight purple colored second label Cabernet Sauvignon from Sinegal is not for the faint of heart. It opens with a fragrant black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of rose petal and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is edgy, bold, and concentrated. The flavor profile is an extracted black currant and blackberry blend with notes of black licorice and oak. I also detected some hints of black cherry-cola, tobacco, and chocolate towards the end. The finish is dry and its substantial chewy tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. I would suggest decanting this big boy wine for at least an hour in the near term before serving it with a well marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
