Wine Review: This ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino from Nardi opens with a cherry and red licorice bouquet with hints of dried roses and faint strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is a cedar and slightly tart cherry blend with notes of red currant and dried strawberry. I also detected hints of stone dust and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. This wine benefits from a little aeration. I would pair this Brunello with Grandma’s Lasagna with Davio’s sweet Italian sausage. Enjoy – Ken
