Wine Review: This Gary's Pinot review comes straight from the final blend barrel. During my visit this summer, I had a chance to try some of the new releases. This offering opens with a smoky black raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and concentrated. The flavor profile is a tasty rich black raspberry with notes of blackberry. The finish is dry and nicely prolonged. Once in the bottle I expect this wine to perform very well. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir is incredibly complex aromatically with a mix of earth, herbs, and fruit. In the mouth the wine continues this complex interplay with concentrated cherry, raspberry, and blackberry fruits. These are joined by a forest floor character and a slight funk (in a positive, James Brown sort of way). This wine is still a youngster and while the tannins would not interfere with current drinking, we believe it will only be better with 3 to 5 years in the cellar.
