Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Shafer opens with a black cherry and strawberry rhubarb like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant with notes of oak and minerality. I also detected a hint of black plum mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its medium tannins build up and last for quite a while. I would suggest pairing this very nice Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 bursts with bright, energetic aromas and flavors of fresh black cherry, black plum right from the tree, pomegranate, wet slate, peppercorn, lavender, and savory herbs. The flavors have long, beautiful length in the mouth and the wine's classic Stags Leap District tannins offer structure and promise for delicious things to come in the cellar.
