Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Cab was my favorite in a flight of Bordeaux styled grapes grown in the Russian River Valley. This wine opens with a very attractive spearmint aroma on the nose. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and nicely balanced. The flavor profile is a delicious spicy blueberry with hints of mild spearmint. The finish is quite dry and its building tannins sail on for quite some time. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The most unique feature of the Azevedo Ranch, owned by Pattie Azevedo and her son, John, is a 200-year-old eucalyptus tree that sits above the vineyard and imparts the intricate flavors of the trees foliage. The result is a lovely Cabernet with flavors of chocolate, tobacco, cassis and a rich overtone of mint.
