Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of cherry cola and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very easy to enjoy. It displays a tasty black cherry flavor profile with notes of black currant and blueberry. I also detected a hint of oak and bacon in the distant background. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty tannins are nicely prolonged. This Cab would pair nicely with grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark, ruby-colored hues precede a lovely nose laced with dust, black olive, hibiscus tea, plums, cherries, mocha and vanilla. Adding to the complexity, there is also an enticing wet stone/mineral character in the background. The palate is a luscious melange of red and black fruit and black tea. This prototypical Alexander Valley Cabernet combines the lush, pure fruit of California with the restraint and elegance found in the Medoc region of Bordeaux.
