Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a black raspberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and old oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle boysenberry and blueberry blend with nicely integrated cedar. I also detected a hint of cherry vanilla as well. The finish is dry and subtle. This is a very tasty and food friendly Zin. I would pair this wine with a thick and juicy bacon burger smothered with sautéed mushrooms and Swiss. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is textbook Dry Creek Zinfandel. The nose is bright and fruity with cranberries, raspberries, crushed black pepper, white chocolate and espresso (from the oak). The palate is lush, concentrated and juicy. The finish is soft and packed with fruit and coffee flavors. As with most great Zinfandel, this drinks wonderfully now and will continue to evolve over the next 3-5 years.
