Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cab opens with a mild strawberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of mild vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, silky, and elegant. The flavor profile is a very tasty spicy black cherry with notes of anise, blueberry and black pepper. The finish is dry and its tingly tannins show some good length. The panel suggested pairing this Cab with filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This is black beauty offers the trademark graphite and blackberry character found in all Cherryblock bottlings. It is deep and expressive with damp earth, spice and "cigar box" oak seasoning. The flavors are concentrated, yet elegant with blackberries, currants, toasty oak, and dusty Cabernet notes. Thanks to the soft tannins, it can be enjoyed now, but will develop and improve over the next 7 to 10 years. A harmonious blend of power and elegance, this is by far our most balanced Cherryblock ever. - Mark R. Lyon, Winemaker
