Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark garnet colored Cabernet is consistently Very Good each year. This wine opens with a fragrant pomegranate bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy, and displays pleasant acidity. The flavor profile is a juicy plum with a hint of pomegranate and oak. The finish is very dry and its noticeable tannins are sticky and linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well with a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Very beautiful, ruby color. The wine shows aromas of blackberry fruit balanced with tea leaves and damp earth—classic Alexander Valley Cabernet terroir. The Chateau barrels add hints of mocha and creme brulee to both the aroma and flavor. The flavor has explosive black cherry fruit at this stage with again with dried leaves and supple texture. It finishes with soft tannins (indicative of the vintage and Merlot blending) with lingering tea and earthy flavors. In short, our more "elegant" style made of Alexander Valley Cabernet to date!
