Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and medium straw-colored Chardonnay from Sea Smoke opens with a cantaloupe and ripe Anjou pear bouquet with hints of McIntosh apple, toasted marshmallow, and almond. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and creamy, yet it is also bright. The flavor profile is a very tasty Meyer lemon and apricot blend with notes of white pepper, pineapple, and gentle oak. We also detected some hints of Anjou Pear and stony minerality in the mix. The finish is dry and rather refreshing for a Chard. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with Emeril's crab cakes or with lobster thermidor. Enjoy - KWGTP
