Wine Review: This salmon-colored California sparkler with medium bubbles hit most of the right marks. On the nose, notes of rose petals, pink grapefruit, and nutmeg can be found. On the palate, the grapefruit is more rind than fruit, but it is followed by notes of Anjou pear, touches of brioche, and candied cranberries. The finish has a nice length to it and fresh acidity. Overall, a valiant effort by Scharffenberger. I would have scored it higher if it had layers that worked in unison. It would pair well with an oven-roasted chicken that is garnished by tomatoes and boiler onions. - Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: The wine has a pale salmon hue with integrated aromas of fresh raspberry jam and wild strawberries on a cream covered pastry base. The flavors are layered, round, fresh, fruity and long.
