Wine Review: This clear straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand opens with a strong lemon, passion fruit and light green pepper bouquet combination. I also detected some herbal notes. Though some may find the bouquet slightly off putting, you are rewarded on the palate. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, smooth, dry, and zesty with refreshing acidity. The flavor profile features grapefruit and lemon-lime with hints of green pepper. The slight tart dry finish faded away nicely. I enjoyed this very good and balanced example of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I would pair it with Maryland crab cakes and tartar sauce. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of gooseberry, lemongrass, boxwood, fresh celery and bready notes on the nose. The palate is dry to taste with juicy gooseberry and citrus flavors forming a light, refreshing medium bodied wine with a tart yet soft lingering finish. Pair with vegetable or light seafood dishes or to enjoy before a meal.
