Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from Lodi opens with an earthy ripe blackberry and plum bouquet which also includes hints of black pepper and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and well-balanced. The flavor profile is a blend of ripe black cherry, plum, black licorice and oak. The finish is refined, and it has sticky tannins that linger. I would pair this Zinfandel with barbecue baby back ribs. – Joe
Winemaker Notes: Ruby red in color, with red fruit, raspberry, and spice on the nose. This wine is medium in body, with notes of ripe cherry, cedar box, cinnamon, anise, black pepper, and hint of smoke on the palate. It has a long, silky finish.
