Wine Review: We were out to dinner with friends and decided to try the Rombauer, because we had heard many good things, but had never covered the wine in the past. We were very pleased with our choice. This very bright yellow colored Chardonnay is pure California in style. It opens with a toasty oak infused lemon butter bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, creamy, and rich. The flavor profile is light lemon custard with hints of melon and nicely infused light oak and vanilla. The finish is dry and a little tingly. It also shows some very nice length. It paired perfectly with our lobster bisque. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: "We have a particular style that we’ve developed with that wine. I wouldn’t call it buttery per se, but it is rich. Maybe some people might think it has buttery descriptors. We say it’s fruit forward and that the oak is very integrated into the wine. Probably texturally it seems buttery."
