Wine Review: This translucent and golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Rodney Strong is very good! It opens with an inviting and fragrant pineapple and honey crisp apple bouquet with notes of oak and lemon tea. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fresh. The flavor profile is a rich oak and baked Bartlett pear blend with notes of pineapple and chalky minerality. I also detected hints of lemon verbena and green tea. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors are very nicely prolonged. This Chard will really appeal to fans who like an oaky style of Chard. I would pair this wine with a lobster bisque with a sherry drizzle. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Golden apple, poached pear, and creme brulee aromas over layers of creamy oak lead to a rich mouthfeel with honey and graham cracker flavors and fresh underlying acidity. The balanced midpalate lasts through the finish, with quince, custard, and baked apple flavors.
