Wine Review: This easy drinking Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong is a clear, medium purple color with black cherry, blueberry, smoke and cedar aromas, with light touches of violets and ground coffee beans. On the palate it is medium bodied with a nice round mouthfeel, good extraction, and dark flavors. I found black plum, black cherry, licorice, and bramble flavors. There was also some gentle oak and dark chocolate. There were moderate dusty tannins in a dry long finish. Open a bottle with those steak tips you are grilling. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: Our 2018 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is rich with dark cherry, plum and baking spices. The delicious fruit is accompanied by black pepper notes, crushed violet and cassis. The palate has medium tannins, lingering spicy oak flavors with a velvety lush finish. Enjoy this Cabernet Sauvignon now with a grilled steak, rack of lamb or grilled winter vegetables.
