Wine Review: This light golden colored Chardonnay opens with a creamy citrus, pineapple and coconut bouquet with light oak notes. The full-bodied palate is fresh, crisp and slightly creamy with mouth-watering acidity and balanced minerality. The flavor profile is lemon, pear, and green apple blend with some vanilla notes mixed in. The finish is pleasant and extended with hints of pink grapefruit. I would recommend pairing this crowd-pleasing Chardonnay from Chalk Hill with lobster raviolis smothered in a with cream sauce. – Joe
Winemaker Notes: Our 2018 Chalk Hill Chardonnay boasts toasty vanilla and spice due to time spent in seasoned French oak barrels during fermentation. It has a full body and creamy texture on the palate. In the glass, the wine is both creamy and crisp, with flavors of golden pear, vanilla, Meyer lemon and a hint of minerality on the long finish. Enjoy over the next one to three years with a gourmet cheese plate or grilled halibut.
