Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Rodney Strong opens with a fragrant lime bouquet with a hint of grapefruit and pear. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, acidic and lively. The flavor profile is a mild lemon with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of mild lime and grapefruit. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This is a very nice summer wine. I would pair it with a grilled swordfish sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fresh, bright and crisp, this Sauvignon Blanc is a wine of balance, richness and aromatic complexity. The Alexander Valley fruit provides the backbone to this Sauvignon Blanc, while the ocean cooled Russian River Valley fruit offers zesty citrus notes of grapefruit, lime blossoms and lemongrass. The warmer Dry Creek Valley fruit gives the wine a wonderful honeydew melon and tropical character. This classic Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc pairs wonderfully with soft cheeses such as goat cheese, vegetable quiche and a variety of seafood dishes.
