Wine Review: This can of dark purple, almost opaque wine has a bold bouquet of jammy red berries, spice and spearmint. On the palate, it is medium bodied with medium acidity and it is more complex than anticipated from a can. The blend of Zinfandel and Petit Verdot has flavors of dark berries, dark plum, spice and a hint of oak. There are some dusty light tannins in the moderate finish. This is a very nice burger wine. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: Red Number 8 is medium-heavy in body with bright red, brambly fruit and just a little spice. It draws its character from the unique composition of Zinfandel and Petit Verdot. The Petit Verdot brings a deep purple color, aromas of blackcurrant, and an earthy base. The Lodi Zinfandel was the perfect for making a blend with appeal to many segments of consumer.
