Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet from Ramey opens with a fragrant black currant bouquet with a hint of black cherry and dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry with nicely integrated oak and a touch of minerality. I also detected a hint of plum as well. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavors linger and are friendly. This Cab is ready to go and would pair well with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The fifth vintage of this blend - it represents our version of a "winemaker's wine." Having spent so much time working in Bordeaux and visiting Burgundy, the Loire and the Rhone, I’m deeply steeped in French winemaking tradition, including their orientation toward the growing site or region. Thus, all our wines are either vineyard designates or regional blends. While Annum is an appellation wine, it is the one blend we make each year that allows us to select from a range of vineyards to make the best blend possible that vintage.
