Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chenin Blanc from Raats Family in South Africa opens with a yellow grapefruit and green apple bouquet with hints of lemon zest, matchstick, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and smooth. The flavor profile is a quince and almond blend with notes of gentle white peach, lemon, and chamomile tea. We also detected hints of faint oak, stone dust, and a touch of tangerine. The finish is dry, and its flavors fade away nicely. We would pair this Chenin with fish n’ chips. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The wine offers a complex nose showing quince, white peach, and yellow apple, with fenugreek spices give more dimension alongside the mineral intensity of the wine. The stone fruit character follows through onto an exceptionally balanced, very delicate, and fine textured palate showing a peach-melba character with an exquisite length and freshness. The wine lingers with hints of ripe nectarine and apricot, zesty lemon and wet chalk. Pair with South African west coast mussels or with a white fish with a beurre blanc sauce.
