Wine Review: This red blend from Portugal once again over delivers for the money. It is dark red colored and opens with a mild blueberry and caramel bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and pomegranate blend with notes of mulberry and a hint of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. There are no noticeable tannins that make this wine very easy to drink and quite food friendly. Pair it with a bacon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense aromas of red fruit compote, with spicy hints. Soft and round on the palate but full bodied. The brief ageing in oak barrels gave this wine complexity and smoothness. Our Castelo do Sulco red pairs really well with grilled steak or Moroccan lamb.
