Wine Review: This dark red colored wine from Portugal opens with a red plum and cedar bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty plum and cedar plank blend with notes of refined minerality. I also detected hints black tea and a touch of raspberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. This wine is food friendly and it would pair perfectly with a juicy bacon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The ripeness of the La Rosa 2015 is almost perfect. It is quite full bodied with lively tannins highlighting the flavors and giving the wine life. Long and versatile, it is a wine for almost all food and all occasions. Being quite approachable as a young wine, it can either be drunk now or kept for up to 5 or so years. Serve at cellar temperatures, this is ideal with any meat dish or cheese.
