Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Arinto based blend from Portugal is very good. It opens with an oak and ripe pear bouquet with hints of pineapple and dried coconut. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is rather smooth and almost silky. It is also gentle and quite fresh. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear and chalky minerality blend with notes of chamomile tea and lemon. I also detect hints of Brach’s butterscotch candy in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. This wine will appeal to lovers of oaked California Chardonnays. I would pair this wine with chicken and wild mushroom raviolis smothered in a light butter cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
