Wine Review: This dark burgundy colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Predecessor on Howell Mountain opens with a gentle tobacco and blackberry bouquet with hints of black licorice, black currant, and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with wonderfully integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is beautifully balanced, super smooth, seamless, and layered. The flavor profile is cassis and gentle black licorice blend with notes of chocolate, black plum, and spearmint. We also detected hints of oak, blueberry, and stone dust. The finish is dry, and its flavors, bright acidity, and well-managed dusty tannins are nicely sustained. We would certainly just love to sip this superb Cab on its own all night long. With food, we would pair it with Stuart’s beef wellington. Enjoy - KWGTP
