Wine Review: This hazy and deep ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Predecessor on Howell Mountain opens with an attractive red plum and sandalwood bouquet with hints of blueberry, fig, and menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, round, and fresh. The flavor profile is tobacco and mild black cherry blend with notes of graphite, black plum, and chocolate. We also detected hints of black licorice, blueberry, and espresso. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and bold tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. We would decant this Cab Franc for quite some time before pairing it with a well-marbled ribeye or with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
