Wine Review: This ruby colored Sangiovese based blend from Polizzano opens with a black cherry and red raspberry bouquet with hints of cedar and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very smooth, vibrant, and zesty. The flavor profile is a tart cherry and stony minerality blend with notes of cedar and tobacco. I also detected hints of red licorice and raspberry tea. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and its very dusty tannins are extended. This wine paired well with my veal parmigiana at Angelina's. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is structured and enduring with intense aromas that faithfully represent its Tuscan origins and the ancient bond between land, man, and culture. The scents are those of Sangiovese, trustfully present both in the nose and palate. These include the unmistakable red Amarena cherries and plum, juicy, and indulgent, and tertiary scents which complete and enrich, like Mediterranean scrub and black pepper.
