Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Pinot Noir from Pike Road opens with a very attractive boysenberry bouquet with a faint hint of cola in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced and round in the mouth. The flavor profile, like the nose is a blend of cherry-cola and boysenberry with nicely integrated oak. I also detected hints of black plum and pomegranate towards the end. The finish is dry and glides away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with Emeril's sausage-stuffed mushrooms. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright and lush, spicy aromatics of red currants, blackberry and pepper lead to a juicy, mouth-coating palate. Fresh cherries, Kirsch and lavender lead to a bright and balanced finish with hints of cloves and tobacco.
