Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Lagrein opens with a mild blackberry and violet bouquet with hints of tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and smooth. The flavor profile is a juicy plum and stone dust blend with notes of black cherry and oolong tea. I also detected hints of cranberry and green olive. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. I would decant this Lagrein before pairing it with a grilled hanger steak. Enjoy – Ken
