Wine Review: This wine was the wine that we opened our anniversary dinner at Grill 23. It opens with a pleasant mild lemon and pear bouquet. On the palate, this Chard is full bodied, extremely well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious green apple with gently infused oak. There are notes of Bosc pear and vanilla blended in as well. The finish is dry and its vanilla notes continue to be rather extended for a Chardonnay. This wine was a wonder treat for us to kick off our dinner. It paired very well with Theresa's halibut. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: True to its name, this wine is indeed a pleasure: open and intense. It displays an exquisite bouquet of lemon cream, honey and candied pineapple. The palate is rich, full-bodied and creamy with beautiful notes of fresh lemon, Mirabelle plum and golden delicious apple coupled with brioche and a flinty mineral character. Hints of pain grille and hazelnut complete the long final mouth feel of this wine.
