Wine Review: This deep yellow colored Chardonnay from Pellet Estate is Excellent. It opens with a pineapple and golden delicious apple bouquet with hints of butter, oak, lemon and apricot. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with pleasant acidity. The mouthfeel is round and juicy. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pineapple and Meyer lemon blend with notes of pie crust and quince. I also detected hints of vanilla and almond. The finish is dry, and its flavors are very nicely extended. This very tasty Chard paired perfectively with Lucia's butternut squash ravioli with a fresh sage and creamy parmesan cheese sauce.
