Wine Review: This bright red colored Zinfandel from Peachy Canyon is an absolute old school fruit bomb. It opens with a fragrant pomegranate and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted spiced red plum with notes of red currant. I also detected hints of cinnamon, pomegranate, and red cherry. The finish is dry and a tad hot, but not overly distracting because there is enough fruit that lingers as well. Serve with sharp cheddar cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Classic aromas of white pepper, black cherry and rich, nutty notes of marzipan meld with cedar, vanilla, and coconut flakes. On the palate, viscous tannins coat the mouth with flavors of dark chocolate, Himalaya berry, caramelized sugars, and roasted hazelnuts. The structure is lively and energetic, finishing with a bright pop of sweet Bing cherry.
