Wine Review: This bright red colored Zinfandel opens with fragrant black cherry, milk chocolate and vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, juicy and approachable. The flavor profile is a ripe red raspberry and black cherry blend with notes of vanilla oak. I also detected hints of strawberry mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger for quite some time. This fruity Zin would pair well with a tangy pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep, intense aromas of allspice, truffle, fig, sarsaparilla, and brown sugar pop on the swirl, met with fresh black cherry and blueberry on the palate. The fruit aromas develop into earthier spice notes like saffron, nutmeg, marzipan, cedar, and smoky tobacco. A carefully balanced wine with elegant tannins and a long finish, this year's Westside is one for the ages.
