Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Peachy Canyon always does well with the panel. This year it finished tied for first place in our big blind tasting. It opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of oak and cherry-cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and subtle. The flavor profile is a black licorice and oak blend with notes of black currant, dark chocolate, blueberry and black tea. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. This is not your typical fruit bomb Zin. Instead it is a very nice red wine that the panel thinks will pair perfectly with a pork tenderloin. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This nose offers aromas of plum, cola, coffee bean, and vanilla, with a hint of sage. Flavors of candied cherry, cola, and venison round out the balanced and well-structured palate.
